Store a carrier's tracking portal and contacts
Updated today
Carrier Tracking Preferences hold what your team needs to track one carrier's freight: the login to the carrier's own tracking website, the preferred tracking method, tracking instructions, and the contacts for tracking and PODs. Once saved, the portal appears on every one of that carrier's loads as a web icon, so a tracker never hunts for the login again.
Open a carrier's preferences
From any of the carrier's loads, open the carrier's page.
Select Update Carrier Tracking Preferences.
The same form is reachable for carriers that have no preferences yet; the heading then reads Add Carrier Tracking Preferences.
What to fill in
Carrier Portal Info: the Tracking Portal URL, Tracking Portal Username, and Tracking Portal Password. The URL must be a full web address.
Tracking Instructions & Method: the Carrier Preferred Tracking Method (MacroPoint, Trucker Tools, FourKites, P44, or Web Portal) and free-text Carrier Tracking Instructions, up to 1,000 characters.
Primary Tracking Contacts: a name, email, and phone for daytime and for after hours.
Primary POD Contact: who to chase for paperwork.
Where it shows up
On the load page, the carrier panel shows the portal URL and username with a copy button, and a web icon in the badge row opens the carrier's page. On the carrier's page the password is masked with a copy button. Company Performance Snapshot reports the share of your loads whose carrier has a portal saved.
When your TMS already has this information
For some integrations, carrier contacts sync in from your TMS on every refresh and overwrite what you enter here. Turn on Manually Control Carrier Contacts? at the top of the form to keep your entries and stop the sync from replacing them. Leave it off when your TMS is the better source.
